Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s minister of investment and international cooperation Sahar Nasr signed two grant agreements with a combined value of $16.5 million (EGP 280 million) with the US Agency for International Development (USAID), according to a statement on Sunday.
The first agreement includes providing a grant worth $13 million to the Ministry of Education, while the second agreement, which amounts to $3.5 million, will finance agricultural development in the country, the statement revealed.
Total value of funding provided by USAID to Egypt has reached $30 billion, Nasr noted.
By the end of the first quarter of 2019, US investments in the North African nation amounted to $22.2 billion, including about $1 billion in new investments during fiscal year 2017/2018, she added.
