Egypt, UAE, Saudi Arabia suspend flights to Sudan

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt and a group of other Arabian airlines on Thursday suspended flights to Sudan after the Sudanese minister of defence Awad Mohamed Ahmed Ibn Auf announced the closure of the country's airspace.

The Egyptian Ministry of Aviation, along with the UAE’s flydubai and Emirates airlines and Saudi Arabian Airlines, suspended flights to Sudan.

Following months of demonstrations, the Sudanese Army arrested President Omar al-Bashir, who ruled the country for 30 years.

The Army took other extraordinary measures including the announcement of a state of emergency and a nationwide ceasefire, in addition to the suspension of the constitution.
