EU finances Egypt’s developmental projects with EUR 1.1bn annually

Cairo – Mubasher: European Union (EU) is funding developmental cooperation projects in Egypt with a value of EUR 1.1 billion ($1.2 billion) annually, the country’s minister of trade and industry Amr Nassar said in a statement.

In addition, the most populous Arab nation's trade volume with the EU countries accounts for around 30% of its global merchandise trade, Nassar revealed on the closing ceremony of the EU-funded Trade and Domestic Market Enhancement Programme (TDMEP) on Sunday.

The TDEMP significantly contributed to supporting reforms in the Ministry of Trade, including developing and implementing the trade and industry strategy 2016-2020 and supporting the industrial licences law, he added.
