ETHYDCO to launch $100m tender in March 2018

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Company (ETHYDCO) is planning to launch an international tender next March for the construction of a new plant to produce synthetic rubber "polybutadiene” with investments worth $100 million.

The Egypt-based petrochemical products producer will announce the winner in May 2018, while the polybutadiene plant is set to start operation in 2020, ETHYDCO chairman assistant Khaled Talaat told Alborsa News.

ETHYDCO’s production of ethylene and polyethylene amounted to 265,000 tonnes in 2016, company chairman Saad Hilal said in In April 2017.
