ENOC begins green fuel pilot in Dubai

Dubai - Mubasher: Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) has collaborated with Dubai Municipality to launch a pilot project using Biodiesel5 to fuel Dubai Municipality’s fleet of trucks at Umm Ramool facility.

Launched by ENOC in the UAE, Biodiesel5 is an advanced alternative green fuel aimed at reducing carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions, the company said in a statement released on Wednesday.

“The launch of Biodiesel5 is aligned with the UAE Energy Plan for 2050 which targets an energy mix that combines renewable, nuclear, and clean energy sources,” ENOC Group CEO Saif Humaid Al Falasi commented.

Companies are the top users of Biodiesel5 as they use it to fuel their trucks and heavy construction equipment without the need to upgrade the engines and fuel storage facility.

“This move is in line with Dubai Municipality’s vision of building a happy and sustainable city, by implementing pioneering sustainable practices to achieve its strategic objectives of conserving the environment,” assistant director general of Dubai Municipality for General Support Sector said.
