UAE – Mubasher: Energy giants ENOC Group and Petrofac have jointly launched a technical training programme aimed at fostering the skills and expertise of young Emirati nationals in ENOC's refinery operations, as stated in a press release.
The programme is designed to bridge the gap between industry requirements and the group's long-term vision of attaining operational excellence through local talent.
ENOC’s Group CEO, Saif Humaid Al Falasi, said: "The initiative marks a significant leap forward in creating a robust pipeline of skilled Emirati professionals to strengthen the critical operations of the national energy sector."
The programme comprises two distinct stages that are tailored to equip participants with essential theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and hands-on experience to excel in ENOC's refinery operations.
Petrofac's Group Chief Executive, Tareq Kawash, said: "We are proud to be partnering with ENOC to deliver this strategic training programme, creating new opportunities for young Emiratis in the energy sector."
Kawash added: “By upskilling people and developing key infrastructure we have been contributing to the UAE’s economy for over three decades now.”
ENOC's refinery is the first-of-kind facility in Dubai and is based at the Jebel Ali Free Zone. In 2019, the group expanded the refinery which increased the capacity to 213,500 barrels per stream day (bpsd), yielding refined products like naphtha, reformate, jet fuel, diesel oil, fuel oil, and liquified petroleum gas (LPG) for both local and export markets.
The energy player, which is wholly owned by the Government of Dubai, recently joined forces with the Retired Military Personnel Association (RMPA) in Abu Dhabi in addition to sealing an agreement with QatarEnergy.
