EGX opens Thursday on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started Thursday’s trading session on a mixed note.

By 10:14 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 27.96 points, or 0.20%, to 14,126.52 points, after snapping four-session losing streak.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index slipped 0.16% to 693.39 points, whereas the broader EGX100 index dipped 0.11% to 1,766.33 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index inched down 0.06% to 2,208 points.

Trading volume amounted to nearly 7.15 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 22.02 million through 824 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 1.11 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 561,400 and EGP 549,400, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) leveled up 0.61% to EGP 81, with a turnover of EGP 1.8 million.
