EGX opens Thursday on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Sunday’s trading session up on the back of foreign and Arab buying.

By 10:22 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index remained stable at 17,705 points.

The EGX70 index edged up 0.25% to 862.27 points, while the EGX100 index added 0.23% to 2,260 points.

Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index inched up 0.13% to 3,012 points.

Trading volume amounted to around 10.3 million shares exchanged through 2,090 transactions at a turnover of EGP 83.3 million.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 8.6 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 2.6 million and 890,800, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) dipped 0.05% to EGP 88.34, with a turnover of EGP 175,000.
