EGX opens Sunday in green

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Sunday in green territory on the back of local and foreign investors.

By 10:30 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index gained 12.82 points, or 0.08%, to 15,286.21 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched up 0.07% to 738.49 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.08% to 1,897.5 points.

Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.29% to 2,519 points.

Trading volume amounted to around 23.9 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 40.5 million through 1,600 transactions.

Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 68,017, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 26,030 and EGP 41,900, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) shed 0.3% to EGP 83.71.
