EGX hits all-time high on foreign buying Thursday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading session up, backed by foreign buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index closed at 15,411, its all-time high level, gaining 212.46 points.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) leveled up 2.35% to EGP 79.12 at a turnover of EGP 63.7 million.

Market capitalisation closed at EGP 861.8 billion, gaining EGP8.5 billion.

The EGX70 index added 0.56% to 855.06 points, while the EGX100 index grew 0.88% to 2,037 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 1.12% to 2,744 points.

Trading volume stood at about 404.12 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.6 billion through 38,590 transactions.

Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 158.8 million, while Arab and Egyptian investors EGP35.18 million and EGP 123.6 million respectively.
