EGX gains EGP 2.1bn in market cap at Monday's close

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading session on a varied note amid local purchases and foreign and Arab selloffs.

The main EGX30 index went down by 0.22%, ending the session at 10,938 points.

On the other hand, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI climbed by 0.6% to 1,614 points, while the EGX100 EWI rose by 0.43% to 2,475 points.

Meanwhile, the EGX50 EWI increased by 0.3% to close at 1,914 points.

The market cap gained EGP 2.1 billion to EGP 604.511 billion.

Local investors were net buyers with EGP 105.25 million, while foreign and Arab were net sellers with EGP 98.05 million and EGP 7.2 million, respectively.

The market’s turnover amounted to EGP 1.23 billion after 362.5 million shares were traded through around 44,800 transactions.
