EGX gains EGP 15.4bn in market cap at Tuesday’s close

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session on a positive note, supported by local purchases.

The benchmark EGX30 index rose by 4.17%, ending the mid-week session at 9,840 points.

Meanwhile, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI increased by 3.25% to 1,034 points, while the broader EGX100 index advanced by 2.9% to 1,054 points.

Likewise, the EGX50 index grew by 3.84% to 1,395 points.

The market cap value rose by EGP 15.4 billion to close at EGP 543.356 billion.

Foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 305.6 million and EGP 12.7 million, respectively, while Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 318.3 million.

A total of 394.9 million shares were traded at a turnover of EGP 1.18 billion through about 176,000 transactions.
