EGX gains 34.95 pts early Tuesday on local purchases

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Tuesday’s trading session in green territory on the back of purchases by Egyptian investors.

By 10:30 Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 34.95 points, or 0.25%, to 13,609 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index added 0.13% to 675.65 points, while the broader EGX100 index levelled up 0.15% to 1,704.37 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index added 0.54% to 2,189 points.

Trading volume amounted to 7.5 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 58.8 million through 2,140 transactions.

Egyptian traders were net buyers with EGP 7.9 million, whereas foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 7.3 million and EGP 641,400, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) shed 0.52% to EGP 81.
