EGX ends Tuesday mixed; market cap gains EGP 1bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session on a varied note amid local purchases and foreign and Arab sell-offs.

The main EGX30 index fell by 0.34%, ending the mid-week session at 11,050 points.

On the other hand, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI rose by 0.39% to 1,543 points, while the broader EGX100 EWI increased by 0.28% to 2,375 points.

Meanwhile, the EGX50 index went up by 0.3% to close at 1,844 points.

The market cap value advanced by EGP 1 billion to EGP 607.17 billion, reaching its highest level since 8 March.

Local investors were net buyers with EGP 146.3 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 3.7 million and EGP 142.6 million, respectively.

The market’s turnover registered EGP 1.8 billion after 406.5 million shares were exchanged through about 44,190 transactions.
