EGX ends Tuesday in green; market cap gains EGP 7.1bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session in green territory, backed by local and Arab buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index went up 157.96 points, 1.11 %, finishing the session at 14,358.64 points.

Market capitalisation gained EGP 7.1 billion and closed at EGP 791.9 billion.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index added 0.39% to 690.5 points, while the broader EGX100 index edged up 0.58% to 1,761.5 points.

Trading volume amounted to nearly 160.6 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 639.5 million through 20,800 transactions.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 17.8 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 2.07 million and EGP 15.7 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) jumped 2.1% to EGP 82, with a turnover of EGP 50.2 million.

HADISOLB topped rising blue-chip stocks with 9.84%, while Juhayna led top losers with 6%.
