EGX ends Tuesday above 14,900 pts; market cap gains EGP 6bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session in green territory.

The benchmark EGX30 index rose 0.97%, finishing the session at 14,927.64 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index jumped 2.17% to 710.51 points, while the broader EGX100 index climbed 1.96^ to 1,794.5 points.

Similarly, the equal-weighted EGX50 index added 0.55% to 2,398 points.

Trading volume amounted to 222.4 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.18 billion through 29,290 transactions.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 47.7 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 27.21 million and EGP 20.5 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) surged 1.31% to EGP 90.5, with a turnover of EGP 79 million.

Market capitalisation closed at EGP 824.28 billion and gained EGP 6 billion.
