EGX ends Thursday in red; market cap loses EGP 3.18bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) finished Thursday’s trading session with a sideways-to-declining performance.   

The benchmark EGX30 index went down 0.63% to end the session at 14,043 points.

Likewise, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index dropped by 0.25% to close at 602.35 points, while the broader EGX100 index retreated 0.32% to 1,536.89 points.

Meanwhile, the equal-weighted EGX50 index slid by 0.86% to close at 2,072.9 points.

Market capitalisation declined by EGP 3.18 billion to EGP 750.25 billion on Thursday, compared to EGP 753.43 billion on Wednesday.

Trading volume registered 132.75 million shares at a turnover of EGP 880.45 million through around 17,410 transactions.

Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 40.81 million and EGP 40.86 million, respectively, while foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 81.68 million.
