Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading session in green territory, backed by local and Arab buying.
The benchmark EGX30 index went up 52.23 points, 0.33%, finishing the session at 15,803.17 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index added 0.47% to 749.46 points, while the broader EGX100 index edged up 0.4% to 1,937.88 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index leveled up 0.1022 to 2,578.20 points.
Market capitalisation gained EGP 2.6 billion and closed at EGP 874.6 billion.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) inched up 0.06% to EGP 85.7, with a turnover of EGP 27.6 million.
Trading volume amounted to nearly 148.3 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 645.6 million through 19,600 transactions.
Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 36.79 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 14.04 million and EGP 22.7 million, respectively.
