Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading session in green territory on the back of foreign and Arab buying.
The benchmark EGX30 index extended gains and jumped 173.68 points, or 1.1%, finishing the session at 16,009 points.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index went up 0.28% to 747.38 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.49% to 1,936 points.
Market capitalisation gained EGP 5.8 billion and closed at EGP 881.7 billion.
Trading volume amounted to 191.45 million shares exchanged through 24,400 transactions at a turnover of EGP 858.4 million.
Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 61.7 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 59.7 million and EGP 2 million, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) rose 2.24^ to EGP 88.01, with a turnover of EGP 9.9 million.
