EGX ends Sunday in green; market cap adds EGP 11.7bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s trading session up amid Egyptian and Arab buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index jumped 287.13 points, or 2.1%, finishing the session at 13,968.8 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index levelled up 0.47% to 698.34 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.84% to 1,752.58 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index climbed 1.95% to 2,225 points.

Trading volume stood at 230.45 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.5 billion through 25,350 transactions.

Foreign traders were net sellers with EGP 63.78 million, while Egyptian and Arab traders were net buyers with EGP 63.44 million and EGP 340,120, respectively.

Market capitalisation closed at EGP 791.4 billion, gaining EGP 11.7 billion.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) soared 2.03% to EGP 83.03 with a turnover of EGP 34.82 million.
