EGX ends Monday mixed; market cap sheds EGP 784.4m

Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading session on a mixed note.

The benchmark EGX30 index slipped 30.44 points, or 0.19%, finishing the session at 15,821.92 points.

Market capitalisation lost EGP 784.4 million and ended the session at EGP 875.14 billion.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched down 0.01% to 751.15 points, and the broader EGX100 index edged up 0.08% to 1,942 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index tumbled 0.13% to 2,585 points.

Trading volume amounted to nearly 228.2 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 783.05 million through 23,160 transactions.

Arab investors were mostly sellers, netting EGP 18 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 11.1 million and EGP 6.8 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) levelled up 0.13% to EGP 87, with a turnover of EGP 43.8 million.
