EGX ends Monday mixed; market cap sheds EGP 5.7bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading session on a mixed note.

The benchmark EGX30 index slipped 111.63 points, or 0.71%, to 15,628.43 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index added 0.76% to 757.42 points, while the broader EGX100 index went up 0.3% to 1.944.47 points.

Trading volume stood at about 185.01 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 558.5 million through 20,500 transactions.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) edged up 0.4% to EGP 86, with a turnover of EGP 45.9 million.

Market capitalisation lost EGP 5.7 billion and closed at EGP 867.5 billion.

Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 29.5 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 20.23 million and EGP 9.2 million, respectively.
