EGX ends Monday mixed; market cap gains EGP 2.2bn

Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading session on a mixed note.

The benchmark EGX30 index gained 130.78 points, or 0.97%, finishing the session at 13,574.99 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index inched down 0.01% to 674.79 points, and the broader EGX100 index edged up 0.02% to 1,701 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index added 0.03% to 2,177 points.

Trading volume amounted to nearly 120.6 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 746.58 million through 20,700 transactions.

Egyptian investors were mostly sellers, netting EGP 228.8 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 33.7 million and EGP 195.06 million, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) jumped 2.21% to EGP 81.49, with a turnover of EGP 107.51 million.

Market capitalisation gained EGP 2.2 billion and ended the session at EGP 766.8 billion.
