EGX ends Monday in green

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading session up on the back of purchases by foreign and Egyptian traders.

The benchmark EGX30 index jumped 223.34 points, or 1.72%, finishing the session at 13,215.4 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index added 0.71% to 677.63 points, while the broader EGX100 index went up 0.83% to 1,700 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.84% to 2,167 points.

Trading volume amounted to around 217.9 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 894.3 million through 26,430 transactions.

Arab investors were mostly sellers, netting EGP 28.3 million, while foreign and Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 12.5 million and EGP 15.8 million.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) jumped 3.48% to EGP 75, with a turnover of EGP 95.85 million.

Market capitalization gained EGP 701 billion and closed at EGP 749.25 billion.
