Cairo – Mubasher: Export Development Bank of Egypt (EBE) on Sunday posted a 51.8% year-on-year surge in consolidated profits for the first quarter of fiscal year 2018/2019.
Net profits amounted to EGP 302.8 million in the July-September period of this year, versus EGP 199.5 million in the year-ago period, the bank said in a filing to the Egyptian Exchange (EGX).
The bank’s earnings from loans and revenues increased to EGP 1.2 billion in the three-month period ended September from EGP 1.014 billion in Q1-18/19.
Meanwhile, standalone profits grew to EGP 267 million at the end of September, from EGP 172.2 million in the prior-year period.
EBE previously posted a net consolidated profits of EGP 790.32 million for the FY17/18, versus EGP 540.07 million in the previous fiscal year.
