Dubai-based Swvl expands transit tech business to Saudi Arabia

UAE - Mubasher: Swvl, an international Dubai-based transit tech startup, has expanded its businesses to Saudi Arabia to provide services to the corporate and business sector as a Saudi limited company.

Saudi Arabia is Swvl’s sixth market, as the tech startup has extended its businesses across nine major cities in the MENAP, Egypt, Kenya, Pakistan, Jordan, and the UAE since its establishment in 2017, according to a press release on Monday.

Swvl offers daily mass employee transportation to more than 100 companies, including food and beverages, construction, oil and gas, textile, education, consumer electronics manufacturing, accounting, telecom, and mobile network operators.

Swvl’s Regional Sales Director, Alexandre Epure, said that the transit startup deploys technology to reduce transportation costs by up to 25% by decreasing the number of vehicles, KMs, and overhead, and optimising routes through a network planning AI engine.

Epure added that the company provides 100% data-based transportation solutions, which comes in line with Saudi’s government initiatives and 2030 vision.
