Dubai – Mubasher: New York-listed Lionsgate says it will partner with Dubai Parks and Resorts to bring a Lionsgate zone to Motiongate Dubai for a Hollywood-themed park.
The new park is slated to open in Dubai in October 2016, the UAE company said in a filing to the Dubai Financial Market (DFM), adding that the Lionsgate zone will feature state-of-the-art theme park attractions and facilities inspired by The Hunger Games franchise.
“It will also incorporate a live stage show based on Step Up: All In and Step Up: Revolution, the two most recent films in the company’s worldwide Step Up franchise,” the statement revealed.
“Our franchises are continuing to drive location-based entertainment opportunities around the world,” said Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer, adding that his company is proud to provide the experience with Dubai Parks and Resorts.
The 4 million square foot Motiongate Dubai is expected to attract over 3 million visits per year.
