Doha Insurance Q1 profits up 22%

Doha – Mubasher: Doha Insurance Company on Thursday announced an increase of 22.3% in its profits for the first quarter of 2017, compared to the same period in 2016.

The company’s profits stood at QAR 27.4 million ($7.52 million) in Q1-17, compared to QAR 22.4 million ($6.15 million) in Q1-16, according to a filing to the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE).

Earnings per share (EPS) amounted to QAR 0.55 in Q1-17, compared to QAR 0.45 in the same period of the year before.

The insurance company had previously reported a drop of 34.9% in profits to QAR 72.25 million in 2016, compared to QAR 111 million in 2015.
