Dhofar Development wins Salalah 2 IPP contract

 

Oman – Mubasher: Dhofar International Development & Investment Holding CO. (DIDIHC) announced winning a contract for the development of the Salalah 2 Independent Power Project.

DIDIHC won the award as part of a consortium comprising Japan’s Mitsui & Co. Ltd and the International Company for Water and Power Projects (ACWA Power).

“This investment is part of our new strategic diversified investment plan and the management anticipates that this strategic investment will be of substantial benefit to DIDIHC”, the company said in its filing to the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) on Tuesday.

DIDIHC announced unaudited financial statements for 2014, reporting a net profit of OMR 12.6 million ($32.7 million) compared to OMR 18.8 million ($48.8 million) in 2013, registering a profit decline by 32%.

The company’s capital amounts to OMR 22 million divided on 220 million shares.
