DXB welcomes 64.5m travellers in 9M/19

UAE – Mubasher: Dubai International Airport (DXB) has received 64.5 million passengers in the first nine months of 2019, down 4.5% year-on-year.

The volume of cargo handled at the airport declined by 4.1% YoY to 1.88 million tonnes in the nine-month period ended 30 September, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

Moreover, the number of flights went down 9.9% to 275,882 from January to September 2019, compared to the year-ago period.

“India held its position as DXB’s top destination country by passenger numbers, with traffic for the first nine months reaching 8.8 million customers, followed by Saudi Arabia with 4.8 million customers, and the United Kingdom with 4.6 million customers,” WAM reported.

It is worth noting that DXB received a total of 41.3 million passengers during the first six months of 2019.
