DP World to continue posting solid profit in 2018 - BI

Dubai – Mubasher: DP World is expected to continue generating a solid profit this year, along with a strong growth in its revenues, according to Bloomberg Intelligence’s (BI) recent report.

The report affirmed that acquisitions of Dubai's state-owned ports operator will boost its revenues.

The impact of new acquisitions including Drydocks World LLC (Drydocks), Dubai Maritime City (DMC) and Cosmos Agencia Marítima (CAM) contributed to diversifying DP World’s revenue base, BI added.

BI also forecast the world's fourth-biggest ports operator to double its profit and revenue during the second half of 2018, encouraged by the company’s activities.

During the first half of 2018, DP World’s net profits fell 2% year-on-year to $593 million, from $606 million, while revenues rose to $2.62 billion, compared to SAR 2.29 billion during H1-17.
