UAE – Mubasher: DP World has completed 70% of the AED 140 million road and infrastructure works at the first phase of the residential and commercial development occurring at Dubai Maritime City (DMC), according to the Dubai media office.
Expected to be finalised in the first quarter (Q1) of 2021, the project will enable DMC to have an efficient and sustainable infrastructure and boost its position as a leading maritime services provider.
DMC is the world’s first purpose-built maritime centre with a sea-based location offering easy access to thriving businesses.
As part of the achievement made in the project's first phase, all underground services on Sheikh Rashid Road were completed to provide access to the sub-developers’ plots located alongside the seaside corniche area.
Meanwhile, around 90% of deep sewerage and drainage services were completed, alongside with 80% of the potable water, fire, irrigation, and telecom networks.
The DP World Group Chairman and CEO, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, said: "The efforts made on the project have assured the overall Phase I completion by Q1, 2021, delivering all major and minor infrastructure expected from a modern and sustainable community which will provide users and sub-developers with the optimal environment and lifestyle."
