DFM rises on Wednesday; market cap at AED 273bn

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) closed Wednesday's trading session on a positive note, reversing its downward performance on Tuesday.

The benchmark index rose by 6.42% or 109.99 points to record 1,823.01 points.

A total of 376.90 million shares were traded through 6,240 transactions worth AED 343.89 million.

The market cap value increased by around AED 11.6 billion to AED 272.95 billion, compared to AED 261.35 billion during the previous session.

The real estate sector topped the gainers with 10.90%, followed by the investment and financial services segment with 7.76%.

Islamic Arab Insurance Company (Salama) led 27 rising stocks with 14.74%, while Dar Al Takaful headed five declining stocks with 4.87%.

Union Properties was the most actively traded stocks with 69.72 million shares, while Emaar Properties recorded the highest turnover of AED 65.82 million.

Damac Properties led the rising blue chips with 14.06%.
