DFM registers 2.3% weekly gains

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) recorded gains this week, despite the coronavirus (COVID-19) affecting the market.

The general index increased by 2.28% or 40.3 points after closing Thursday at the level of 1,809.12 points.

Market cap increased by AED 580 million to AED 272 billion, compared with AED 271.42 billion at the end of the previous week.

Commercial goods led the rising stocks and added 27.90 points, followed by real estate with 12.62%, services with 7.61%.

Damac was among the biggest gainers this week, rising by 29.92%, followed by Emaar with 16.58%, DXB Entertainments with 14.43%, Arabtec with 8.04%.

On the other hand, Dubai Islamic Bank topped the falling blue-chip stocks and lost 4.85%.
