DFM posts 3-session losing streak Wednesday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) closed Wednesday’s trading session on a negative note, shrugging off the recently disclosed robust financial results for the first half of 2019.

The DFM’s general index shed 6.38 points, or 0.23%, to 2,716.09 points.

Trading volume amounted to 145.353 million shares exchanged at a turnover of AED 153.490 million through 2,068 transactions.

The bourse’s market capitalisation lost AED 43.7 million and closed the session at AED 356.640 billion.

The real estate and the consumer goods sectors slipped by the same percentage of 0.80%, followed by the investment and financial services sector that inched down by 0.06%.

On the other hand, the services sector added 0.28% and the banks sector edged up 0.07%.

Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) was the most heavily traded stock with a turnover of AED 41.903 million on the back of the positive financial results it reported earlier this day.
