DFM levels down 60 pts in week

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market’s (DFM) general index lost 59.14 points, or 2.01%, to close at 2,889.7 points at the end of the week.

The investment sector went down 4.2%, as DFM Company dropped 5.17% and Dubai Investments shed 4.1%.

The transportation sector went down 2.75% after Aramex sank 3.53% and Gulf Navigation declined 2.17%.

The real estate sector fell 2.3% after Drake and Scull tumbled 4.5%, while Emaar Properties and Damac Properties levelled down 3.23% and 2.43%, respectively.

On the other hand, the services sector increased by 0.49% and Amanat Holdings rose 0.83%.

Over the week, the DFM’s trading volume reached 1.239 billion shares, while the market’s liquidity hit AED 1.01 billion.

The market could witness some recovery in the coming sessions, given the growth of some blue chips during this week, Al-Sharhan Centre’s general manager Gamal Agag told Mubasher.
