DFM ends Thursday in green

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market’s (DFM) general index closed Thursday in green territory after growing 8.16 points, or 0.3%, reaching 2,826.60 points.

The DFM’s traded volume reached 348.46 million shares, compared to 209.43 million on Wednesday, while the market’s trading value soared to AED 368.58 million, from AED 146.63 million.

The insurance sector rose 4.53% as Islamic Arab Insurance Company’s (Salama) stock jumped 10.2% to AED 0.541, while the consumer staples sector increased 3.43% after DXB Entertainments’ stock levelled up 3.82%, reaching AED 0.353.

The real estate sector inched up 0.65% as the stocks of Arabtec Holding, Drake and Scull International (DSI), Emaar Development, and Damac Properties gained 3.26%, 2.3%, 1.85%, and 0.48%, respectively.

The transportation sector added 0.56% after Gulf Navigation Holding’s stock edged up 0.91% to AED 0.888 and Aramex’s stock added 0.71%.

The bourse’s market capitalisation increased by AED 500 million, to AED 370.93 billion, compared to AED 370.42 billion in the previous session.
