DFM ends Sunday in red

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) has closed Sunday’s trading session on a negative note.

The DFM’s general index went down by 18.55 points, or 0.64%, to 2,869.84 points.

Trading volume amounted to 116.072 million shares that were exchanged at a turnover of AED 146.682 million through 1,477 transactions.

The real estate sector dropped by 1.02%, and the consumer staples and the banks sector fell by 0.76% and 0.43%, respectively.

On the other hand, the investment and the financial services sector leveled up 0.76% and the services sector added 0.27%.

Gulf Navigation was the most active stock by volume with a trading volume of 25.36 million shares, while Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) was the most active stock by value with a turnover of AED 24.455 million.

Most of the blue-chip stocks have seen a downward trend, including Arabtec, DXB Entertainments, and Emaar Properties that shed 1.17%, 0.89%, and 0.49%, respectively.

Meanwhile, Dubai Investments and Damac Properties went up by 1.53% and 0.11%, respectively.
