DFM ends Sunday in red

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) closed Sunday’s trading session with a negative performance, dragged down by the fall of blue-chip stocks.

The general index declined 42.37 points, or 1.63%, to end the first session of the week at 2,556.68 points.

The DFM’s trading volume decreased to 211.51 million shares on Sunday, from 379.56 million on Thursday, while liquidity plunged to AED 194.06 million against AED 274.62 million in the previous session.

The real estate sector topped the bourse’s decliners falling 3.12% as Emaar Development went down 7.04%, while the services sector declined 2.40% due to Amanat Holding’s 4.17% drop.

Similarly, the investment sector retreated 1.82% as Dubai Investments and Shuaa Capital levelled down 2.27% and 2.16%, respectively.

On the other hand, the customer staples sector topped the gainers adding 2.86% as DXB Entertainment rose 3.26%.
