DFM edges up at Thursday's close; market cap gains AED2bn

Dubai – Mubasher: The main index of the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) edged higher by 0.33% or 8.86 points at the end of Thursday’s trading session, closing at the level of 2,722.43 points.

The bourse saw liquidity of AED 163.68 million after 105.66 million shares were exchanged through 1,963 transactions.

The market cap value hiked by AED 2.19 billion to stand at AED 370.84 billion, compared to AED 368.65 billion on Wednesday.

The consumer staples segment rose by 3.28%, followed by the banks and the investment and financial services sectors by 0.71% and 0.01%, respectively, whereas the services sector shed by 1.07%.

Mashreq Bank was the top riser by 13.06%, whereas Takaful Emarat was the top faller by 5.26%.

Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) showed the highest turnover of AED 37.88 million, while Amanat Holdings was the most active stock with 19.22 million shares.

As for the blue chips, DXB Entertainments went up by 3.88%, whereas DIB was down by 0.56%.
