DEWA to set up smart water distribution system

Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has awarded a project for supplying and launching a smart water distribution system at a total cost of around AED 65.4 million.

This project aims at monitoring and remotely collecting data of the water distribution network in Dubai, in addition to providing technicians with a training programme to manage the system, DEWA added in a statement.

“The project includes state-of-the-art technology, and a training programme for technicians to manage the system with a total cost of AED 65.4 million,” managing director and CEO of DEWA Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer said.

“The implementation of the project is going according to plan, and is expected to be complete in two years,” Al Tayer added.

Given that the smart system will read main smart metres and compare them with other ones in the local area, and monitor consumption on a 24/7 basis.
