DEWA completes AED 23m solar energy-powered water pumping station

UAE - Mubasher: The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has completed the water pumping station project at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park at a total value of AED 23.1 million.

With a total capacity of 7.5 million imperial gallons of water per day (MIGD), the pumping station will meet the water demand of the different facilities and buildings at the solar park and nearby areas, according to a press release on Tuesday.

The Executive Vice President of Water & Civil at DEWA, Abdullah Obaidullah, said that the station will benefit from the solar park's clean energy and can be run remotely through the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system.

Meanwhile, the Managing Director & CEO of DEWA, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, explained that the authority is launching water networks across all areas of Dubai, following the latest technologies and the highest standards of availability, reliability, and efficiency.
