China's CNTC wins contract for Imkan's Pixel in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi-based developer Imkan has appointed Chinese construction company CNTC as main contractor for its seven-tower Pixel development, with work due to begin immediately and complete by Q4 2021.

Located within Makers District on Reem Island, Pixels is an 18ha waterfront community comprising 525 residential units.

The contract agreement was signed by Abu Dhabi Capital Group's chief executive officer, HE Abubaker Seddiq Al Khoori; board member of Royal Strategic Partners, Dr Hamad Abdulqadir Al-Ali; Imkan CEO, Walid El-Hindi; and CNTC's vice president, Xinrong Xu.

El-Hindi described CNTC as “one of the biggest construction companies in China” and said its agreement with Imkan underscored the UAE’s support of China's Belt and Road Initiative.

He added: “We are looking to the future and the union of our companies is a reflection of the close relationship the UAE shares with China, a relationship that is only set to grow.”
