Canada lifts ban on EgyptAir direct cargo transport

Cairo – Mubasher: Canada has decided to lift the ban on EgyptAir’s direct flights of cargo transport after being suspended for more than two years, Egyptian trade minister Tarek Kabil said.

This came as a result of efforts of the Egyptian Commercial Service office in Montreal and the Egyptian civil aviation ministry that have arranged a visit to Egypt for a technical delegation from the Canadian transport ministry to review safety regulations related to Egyptian air cargo to Toronto, Canada, the minister added in a statement.

This decision will boost the competitiveness of Egyptian exports in the Canadian market, mainly exports of agricultural crops, he highlighted.

For his part, head of Egyptian Commercial Service Ahmed Antar said that Canadian importers are diversifying sources of supplying agricultural goods due to the climate changes in the US and Latin America.

The Egyptian Commercial Service office in Montreal is currently planning to participate in CPMA show for agricultural crops, in coordination with the Agriculture Export Council, Anter added.

CPMA show, one of the biggest events specialised in the agricultural sector in Canad, will be held on 23-26 April 2018.
