Cairo – Mubasher: The benchmark EGX30 index jumped 385 points, or 2.51%, breaking above 16,000 points on the back of the heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB).
By 12:14 pm Cairo time, CIB surged by 3.99% to EGP 85, with a turnover of EGP 27.9 million.
Meanwhile, the bourse’s turnover hit EGP 456.4 million traded through 170.8 shares.
Egyptian Chemical Industries (Kima) headed top gainers with 9.89%, while Juhayna Food Industries topped declining blue-chip stocks with 6.87%.
It is worth noting that Capital economics projected the EGX30 index to touch 17,900 points late-2018.
