CIB logs higher consolidated net profits in 2025; total assets cross EGP 1.4trn

Cairo - Mubasher: The Commercial International Bank - Egypt (CIB) posted an annual jump of 49% in consolidated net profits after tax to EGP 82.25 billion in 2025, compared with EGP 55.25 billion.

The bank's consolidated net interest income hit EGP 107.69 billion in the January-December 2025 period, which marked a year-on-year (YoY) hike from EGP 91.06 billion, according to the financial results.

The basic earnings per share (EPS) rose to EGP 18.25 at the end of 2025 from EGP 14.72 in 2024; whereas the diluted EPS climbed to EGP 18.05 from EGP 14.56.

Consolidated customer deposits totaled EGP 1.11 trillion in 2025, reflecting a YoY rise from EGP 972.59 billion.

Furthermore, the consolidated total assets reached EGP 1.44 trillion as of 31 December 2025, higher than EGP 1.21 trillion a year earlier.

Commentary

The CIB management commented on the annual results, saying: "Echoing the relative stability and predictability witnessed in local macroeconomic conditions, while remaining committed to elevate the overall customer banking experience, CIB ended 2025 on a high note, delivering another remarkable set of results." 

It added: "Even upon normalizing for the positive impact of the released provision amount pertaining to the recalibration of the Bank’s Expected Credit Loss (ECL) Model, highlighted in our previous Earnings Release, CIB full-year 2025 bottom line would record EGP 70.60 billion or $1.50 billion, translating into a healthy YoY growth of 28%, and of 36% in USD terms."

Standalone Results for Full Year

The EGX-listed lender recorded YoY higher non-consolidated net profits after tax at EGP 81.80 billion in 2025, versus EGP 55.42 billion.

Standalone net interest income surged to EGP 107.22 billion in the 12-month period that ended on 31 December 2025 from EGP 90.81 billion in 2024.

The non-consolidated total assets stood at EGP 1.43 trillion in 2025, signaling an annual increase from EGP 1.20 trillion.

Meanwhile, the bank generated EGP 1.10 trillion in standalone customer deposits during 2025, compared to EGP 967.89 billion in 2024.

Quarterly Results

In the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2025, CIB registered consolidated net income of EGP 20.10 billion, surging by 57% on an annual basis. 

Fourth-quarter 2025 standalone revenues were EGP 32.70 billion, rising by 22% from Q4-24. 

During the first nine months (9M) of 2025, CIB registered consolidated net profits totaling EGP 62.10 billion when compared with EGP 42.34 billion in 9M-24.
