CBI’s shareholders nod to 2022 dividends, bonus shares

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The shareholders of Commercial Bank International (CBI) greenlighted cash dividends worth AED 730.11 million for 2022, according to a bourse filing.

During the annual general meeting (AGM) that was held on 1 March 2023, the shareholders also agreed to disburse 182.45 million bonus shares worth AED 182.45 million.

The total dividend amount of AED 912.57 million represents 50% of the bank’s net profits and 32.56% of the capital.

Meanwhile, the last entitlement and ex-dividend dates will be 9 and 10 March 2023, respectively.

In 2022, the net profits attributable to the owners of CBI hit AED 117.23 million, down from AED 121.77 million in the January-December 2021 period.

Net operating income plunged to AED 602.80 million in 2022 from AED 630.64 million in 2021, whereas the basic and diluted earnings per share (EPS) declined to AED 0.06 from AED 0.07.
