Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) decided to set a temporary daily cash withdrawal and deposit limit of EGP 10,000 for Egyptian individuals and EGP 50,000 for Egyptian companies.
The rule excludes the salaries due to be paid to employees, the CBE said in a statement on Sunday.
In addition, the ATM withdrawal and deposit limit has been set at EGP 5,000.
This move is part of the government’s efforts to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) by encouraging customers to use cashless payment methods.
