CBE auctions EGP 62bn T-bills on Sunday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) offered treasury bills (T-bills) at a combined value of EGP 62 billion through two issues on Sunday, 18 February 2024, according to official data.

The first tranche amounted to EGP 35 billion and will mature in 91 days on 21 May 2024.

The second auction, meanwhile, was valued at EGP 27 billion and holds a tenor of 273 days until 19 November 2024.

Last week, the CBE offered T-bills on 11 and 15 February through auctions worth EGP 62 billion and EGP 70 billion in respective order.
