Mubasher: The indices of Boursa Kuwait closed Tuesday’s trading session with a mixed performance, as the Main Market index edged down 0.5%, the All-Share Market index went down 0.15%, while the Premier Market index added 0.05% or 2.45 points to 4,782.44 points.
Boursa Kuwait still need more liquidity as investors are hesitant to build new strong positions in line with lack of confidence in the market, despite the quiet geopolitical tension, deputy head of the investment research unit at KAMCO, Raed Diab, told Mubasher.
Blue chips registered active trades on Tuesday in line with disclosing the income statements of the first quarter, Diab added.
The real estate segment led seven decliners, while the technology sector topped four gainers with 2.9%.
Jiyad headed the winners with 21.25%, while Boubyan Holding led the losers with 12%,
Boursa Kuwait’s turnover increased by 11.7% to KWD 12.19 million on Tuesday compared to KWD 10.91 million in the previous session after the trading volume grew by 18.8% to 84.59 million shares from 71.19 million.
Boubyan Holding posted the highest trading value of KWD 1.53 million, while Noor was the most active stock on which 11 million shares were traded.
